The Big Draw
Over 100 participants, mainly young people, created a community mural at North Swindon library as part of the national Big Draw event in October in 2007.
Flux organised this local project, inviting artists to be on hand to help.
Flux Director Kirsty Carter said, “The mural was full of interesting subjects, such as the railway, local houses and people, but what was really great was the local artists. Some retired people were working alongside the children, passing on tips and talking about what had inspired their work. The project was a real success.”
The annual National Big Draw event aims to ‘get everyone drawing’ and to offer people of all ages the opportunity to discover that drawing is enjoyable, liberating and at everyone’s finger tips.
