Talent Show 2008
Students of Isambard School took part in their first-ever talent show, dubbed "fantastic" by those watching. Many different acts were showcased – from music and dancing to knitting!
Swindon Mayor Michael Barnes attended, while judges included professional musicians and dancers. A student committee organised the event, with the help of Flux officer Beth Sturman. Beth reports:
"It was a fantastic night, the students were all on the ball and eager. Some were so nervous they almost didn’t go on but after a few deep breaths gave a great performance! It was definitely a good learning curve but I had great fun with the committee organising the event."
Twenty seven acts performed, including:
- Ballet
- contemporary dance
- modern dance
- tap dance
- bands
- solo singers
- singers
- guitar solos
- Bollywood dance
- knitting
Judges comment:
"Fantastic amount of talent!”
Winners:
1.The Cheesy Boys - Jason Gates & Michael Roberts - comedy dance.
2. Alanta Parsons Brown with contemporary dance.
3. Idiot Nation Federation - band (Liam Swepson, James Weller, Jamie Beynon, Tamara Hadebe, Beth Cooper, Samantha Taylor, Danni Taylor).

- “Can see them being famous in no time.”
Local band Alfonz concluded the great evening, almost bringing down the house. A great time was had by all!

hello flux, im posting this comment to say thank you to the school council for setting this event up and that i was glad to take part in it and that i had fun!!!!!!!
that was fun even though me and juris cam eup with it in like 20 mins
i think they are all so great, i am suprised they are not famous
i really enjoyed the talant show it great. hope we do another one. GO IDIOT NATION INFEDERATION!!!!!
the talentshow was one of the greatest shows yet but watch for this yr's one it will be off the fashizzy chain and it will blow your head OFF just watch out good luck 2 everyone who is joining the talentshow p.s everyone HAS got a talent. coolage:0:0:0:0:0:0:):):):>
