People on Tour
Swindon teachers made fabulous full sized sculptures of people as part of a series of training sessions.
The training began with participants making people sculptures out of cardboard, with Yorkshire-based 3D artist Philip Cox.
Teachers attended three more twilight sessions to support their own creativity and classroom practice.
Background
This project was developed as a cluster model, in response to a request for a change in the way that Art and Design CPD is delivered through the Borough network at KS2 and 3.
A variety of different media was explored by the teachers:
- cardboard sculpture
- digital photography
- mixed media (fabric)
- and cartoon/animation.
The project was managed by Maggie Harris, an artist/educator, who ensured that the input from the invited professional artists was relevant to Art and Design subject leaders.
