Ker-ching
Flux supported Sixth Sense Theatre for Young People’s high-energy and highly topical touring production, Ker-Ching!, which explored the relationship between young people and money in 2009.
The Ker-Ching! production team were in residence at Isambard Community School, rehearsing the show for three weeks. Many students were able to watch the director, Scott Graham, and the actors in rehearsal, as they developed their characters, and put the scenes together to create a very physical performance.
Isambard students helped to develop the show. The show’s writers ran workshops in English lessons, which helped them to understand what money means to young people today, and how they feel about it. Students also took part is set design workshops with the show’s designer, Laura McEwen.
Julie Lewis, Head of PE at Isambard School, said, "Very entertaining! Ker-ching grabs your attention from the start and maintains it throughout the performance. It makes you think about money and the decisions you make with your own."
