Community
As well as the schools programme, Flux also aimed to create new traditions for a new community and so help people connect, not just with exciting arts events, but with each other.
Community Co-ordinator Ella Bissett-MacEwen explained, "The community programme has been running full steam ahead for two years. We’ve done so much, from the lantern parade, the Under the Sea Festival, schools events, holiday projects, circus skills workshops, special education needs projects, and arts workshops at the library, to puppet making workshops.
"We've got to know so many children and young people from across the area and it's been great. Our family workshops at the North Swindon library have been great - people have enjoyed making masks, lanterns, dolphins and monsters.
"Through everyone's participation we really feel that there’s been a sense of community and fun and everyone’s mucked in and got involved to make this a fantastic success.
"The community programme has now ended but we hope that that all the good things that have been achieved are continued through local groups.
"We’d like to thank everyone who’s been involved, particularly the children and young people, whose energy and enthusiasm has led the way in creating this sense of community."
