Busk Dance Day

One hundred eleven year olds enjoyed a special dance day in 2007, delivered by leading Swindon-based street dancer Banxy - and his crew of five local professional hip hop artists.

The day, which was part of the Isambard school arts curriculum, aimed to inspire students to take up dance. It began with an assembly to the whole school and was followed by four two-hour workshops for two of the Year 7 houses.

Members of Banxy's team then led a regular extra curricular street dance workshop, alongside regular session leader Tammy Spalding.

Eleven Isambard students then saw the premiere of Banxy's new show, Busk, Kings of the Sidewalk, at the Wyvern Theatre, as part of the education package offered by Swindon Dance.
