Artsmad

Artsmad: Arts making a difference to the lives of children and young people throughout Swindon.

Thousands of Swindon children and young people have been involved with the arts, thanks to Artsmad. From dance to drama, music to creative writing, digital art to visual art, youngsters - from the age of three to 25 - have been enjoying great experiences.

Artsmad is a local strategic development initiative driven by Swindon Borough Council Arts Services and Arts Council England. It is working in partnership with local and regional organisations to provide access to high quality arts experiences for children and young people.

Finished mural made with artists from Artsite and local people from the Queen’s Park area in central Swindon. The painted images reflect the features of the lake and park and are finished off with ceramic detail.Part of a network of nine arts in education agencies across the South West, Artsmad exists to put professional artists in touch with schools and youth centres. They also give advice, information and guidance and help to plan arts provision for children and young people throughout Swindon. Ever since it began life in 2003, Artsmad has been involved in running exciting action research projects.

Artsmad came up with the idea for the Flux programme back in 2005 and applied to the Invest to Save programme for funding and here we are!
