Arts Award

Isambard is the first school in the country where all staff have been trained to be an Arts Award advisor.
The Arts Award is a nationally recognised qualification, similar to the Duke of Edinburgh Award. Young people gather evidence of the participation in arts activities in their portfolio, under the following headings:

Taking part
Being the audience
Heroes and heroines
Sharing skills
When their Arts Award advisor thinks that they have met all the criteria, their portfolio will be submitted for moderation by an external advisor. The bronze Arts Award is worth one point on the national qualifications framework.
Since Flux began until July 2009 Flux enabled:
66 students to gain their Bronze Arts Awards
5 students to gain their Silver Arts Award
1 Flux young member of staff has gained the Gold Arts Award.

The arts award is very fun because it helps to get into things that you have never done before or to just continue something you enjoy doing.
